On 04 January 2023, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled the Dubai Economic Agenda called ‘D33’. The agenda aims to make Dubai the world’s best city for living, working, and investing.
The D33 agenda is Dubai’s 10-year economic strategy (2023 – 2033) with a master plan aimed at transforming the Emirate into one of the world’s top three cities for business, innovation, and quality of life. The intention is to double the Emirate’s GDP to AED 32 trillion with 300% growth of foreign trade.
Key initiative includes more than 100 projects focused on digital transformation, manufacturing, and adding 400 cities that encompass Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa to its trade network, attracting AED 700 billion in foreign direct investment.

On 12 May 2025 CEOWORLD magazine published a list of safest cities of the world 2025 wherein Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE, was ranked number one in safety score having 97.73 points among the 300 listed cities.
